About Jeab Cafe & Thai Food

When you’re exploring the vibrant streets of Chiang Mai, Jeab Cafe & Thai Food quickly becomes one of those spots you tell your friends about. Tucked away at 12/2 Nimmana Haeminda Rd Lane 13 in the lively Suthep neighborhood, this restaurant mixes laid‑back cafe energy with the bold flavors of Thai comfort food. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the easy‑going vibe - it’s the kind of place where grabbing a coffee turns into lingering over shared plates, and casual meals feel like something special. Whether you’re popping in for a quick bite between sightseeing or settling down for a long, relaxed lunch, Jeab delivers without pretense.

One of the first things you’ll notice is how versatile the experience can be. With outdoor seating, you can soak up the sunshine while people‑watching or chatting with friends; if you’re in more of a chill indoor mood, the dine‑in atmosphere feels cozy and welcoming without being stuffy. For those days when you just want comfort food at home, Jeab offers delivery and takeout - and it’s reassuring to know that even off‑site, your meal arrives with all the flavor and care you’d expect from an eat‑in dish.

The menu at Jeab Cafe & Thai Food strikes a great balance between familiar cafe offerings and classic Thai favorites. Start with a rich, aromatic coffee that’s perfect for early mornings or afternoon breaks, then slide into small plates that are ideal for sharing - think quick bites that pair beautifully with the happy hour drinks on offer. If you’re sticking around later in the evening, the restaurant serves late‑night food that keeps the good times rolling without pretension. What’s really cool is how they’ve included vegetarian options alongside traditional Thai dishes, so everyone at your table can find something tasty.

The service feels personal without being overbearing, and staff are always happy to help you navigate the menu or suggest their favorites. Because of that, Jeab strikes a sweet spot between casual and memorable, making it a go‑to stop whether you’re a local or just passing through Chiang Mai.

Our final night in Chiang Mai and we had a very nice and light dinner (for 2) here. We tried another version of khao soy which had a different curry flavour which tasted good. The noodle was similar to the yellow noodles we eat back home (Singapore). We added a spicy northern local sausage and stir fried water spinach. We are happy to find water melon cubes with fish floss and shallots. The location is the nimmam locality, very central and convenient. The restaurant is very popular and we recommend coming earlier to get a table.

Cozy restaurant with vegetarian options! The green curry with tofu was really flavorful. The tofu and vegetable fried rice could have used more seasoning, it was a bit bland. Veggie egg rolls were fried to perfection and the sauce paired well. Service was friendly and attentive. They accept credit cards with a 3% fee. I would return if I'm the area again.

This place is frequented by tourists mostly, the prices are slightly higher than roadside stalls(79B for Pad Thai vs 50B at the roadside). But as a tourist, I found this place to be very good indeed! Almost all other restaurants in the vicinity are serving northern Thai dishes, namely BBQ pork and spicy salads. Jeab has a large variety, and can cater to the non spicy eaters. I had the glass noodle prawn dish, vegetarian hor mok (famous red curry paste dish) and a sour plum pork soup. All very recommended!
